we believe in u

On Friday I will have to hold a class. We could almost say my first class, at least the first after a long time.
Of course I am a little nervous.

A colleague suggested that I bring some cookies so that the students will love me.

A friend suggested that I wear a mini-skirt.

It's nice when people believe in your potential...

    actually as a student I would interpret both strategies as weak strategies

    don't be seductive to students, the only way for them to love u is through ur passion in teaching them something useful, no other way

    cookies and skirts in this context sounds pretty lame

    u will rock, with ur brain.

    well, in fact I was ironic. I was just observing how people who should believe in me (friends/colleagues) as a mind, were suggesting cookies and naked skin...

    it was a little disappointing, though they were mainly joking.
